FORBIDDEN FRUIT/SQUEAKY SINLESS SHRIMP
3 colour riso print, A3 but narrow (41x20) in ultramarine blue, orange and green on 120gsm Munken.
From an as-of-yet-unprinted artists book called "TALES FROM THE AGE OF THE SECOND FISH PART I-III".
All three tales are plays on myths and motifs that I have mixed around a bit to create new and personal meanings. In this story, a geriatric Adam and Eve, both of ambiguous sex and totally opaque gender, ascend twin trees to steal rowan berries, setting off the apocalypse. They are consumed by terrifying deities as the seas boil and a giant serpent writhes. Here, they are reborn, spat out young again by the gods who wear the faces of their old selves. In a dead world under orange skies, they feast on toxic berries, eternally young.
On that note: Do you like defying the ancient gods? Are you never sure if you're getting away with it? Are you worried that we have sold our earth for vain and stupid things? Do you think rowan berries are just, like, the prettiest? Do you like ... MYTHOPOESIS, my dear?

NOTE FOR RISO-NOVICES: risograph printers are mechanical duplicators. Like with screen-print or offset, each colour separation is printed separately, one by one, but risographs are inherently less precise and predictable. Minor imperfections, such as slight misregistrations, and variations in colour density and texture can occur and are part of the charm of the process!
